Getting Away With This
Okay, get ready for something seriously lovey-dovey. I know, I know. But I can't help myself! I'm just a lovey-dovey kind of person.
Oh, God, here we go again...
He'll keep me warm
Like a silk bedsheet.
His fingers are ribbons
Making me glow with heat.
Hipbones are magic,
Necks are stardust.
We'll get away with this,
He's so easy to trust.
He traces my collarbones,
I grab perfect shoulder blades.
My head on his chest hears
The beating of the heart we've made.
His hair feels like satin,
I love his fingers through mine.
He's so close to me now,
There's no space, no more time.
He whispers, "I love you."
I believe him, I do.
I narrow the breathing space
And return, "Love you too."
There's no more room between us
And I start bawling into his chest.
He understands why I'm crying
Because he's the one that knows me best.
Sometimes tears are just happiness
Struggling to pour out of the soul.
He holds me as I tremble
Because I've finally become whole.
Oh, God, here we go again...
He'll keep me warm
Like a silk bedsheet.
His fingers are ribbons
Making me glow with heat.
Hipbones are magic,
Necks are stardust.
We'll get away with this,
He's so easy to trust.
He traces my collarbones,
I grab perfect shoulder blades.
My head on his chest hears
The beating of the heart we've made.
His hair feels like satin,
I love his fingers through mine.
He's so close to me now,
There's no space, no more time.
He whispers, "I love you."
I believe him, I do.
I narrow the breathing space
And return, "Love you too."
There's no more room between us
And I start bawling into his chest.
He understands why I'm crying
Because he's the one that knows me best.
Sometimes tears are just happiness
Struggling to pour out of the soul.
He holds me as I tremble
Because I've finally become whole.
