You made your way through the forest toward Dante's mansion, where Greed had run off to. He had kidnapped you and Al. Al stayed behind with Marta, while you went after him. You hadn't seen Ed, though. As the mansion came in sight, you saw some disapear into the open front door. You only caught a glimpse, but you know for a fact, you saw gold.
"Edward..?" You asked yourself as you ran in.
"You did this, didn't you?" You heard Ed's voice ask inside the room. You walked in, but then stepped behind the door, not wanting to be seen. You spaced out in your thoughts as they talked, that is until Ed was thrown into the desk. You gasped.
"Edw-" You slapped your hand over your mouth and hid fully behind the door. You peeked back to see them still fighting. "Ed.." You whispered. They began talking about something, it sounded important, but you couldn't really hear them. As the battle continued, you realized Greed was losing. Ed had found his weakness then, huh? Your eyes narrowed as Ed's blade went through Greed's mid section. Greed's sheild disapeared as his normal form returned.
"Heh, nice one kid." He said shaking slightly, as he fell to his knees, Ed following. Now you couldn't hear anything they were saying, withh all their mumbling. Suddenly, Greed started shaking heavily and Ed began shaking him.
"You can't die! You're the ultimate sheild! I can't kill you!" Ed screamed, but Greed made no movements. Tears began streaming down your cheeks. Ed stood up and continued screaming, he kicked Greed over to his side. Greed did nothing. Ed screamed, grabbed his head, and fell to the ground, hunched over. Greed seemed to evaporate into a puddle of melted red stones. Ed sobs filled the room. Your tears were pouring.
"Edward!" At the sound of your voice he froze.
"Kel...?" He whispered turning his head to look at you.
"Ed...Edo!" You yelled running toward him. He sat up with tears still falling. His arms opened as you grew closer. You threw yourself down into his arms.
"Why...Why is killing so easy!? Why's it so damn easy..!?" He screamed into your shoulder. You held him tighter.
"Edward, please." You said sadly. He shook his head.
"I killed him...I actually killed him...I didn't want to!" He yelled bringing you close to him, your bodies no tightly pressed together.
"I know Ed..I know.." You whispered, undoing his braid. "It's okay Edward..." You ran your fingers through his hair to calm him down. He seemed to relax at your touch.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry you had...you had to see that.."
"It's alright Ed." You said pulling away slightly and looking up at his face. He looked...heartbroken. You looked into the beautiful gold eyes you loved, only to see the shine was gone. They weren't the normal melted gold they usually were. They were empty. You pressed your lips to his forehead in a caring way. He closed his eyes.
"Kel..how is it..you know how to make me feel better...without even trying?" He murmured. You smiled slightly, pulling away.
"I...don't know!" You said grinning. He opened his eyes and smiled, pressing his forehead to your own. Your eyes locked.
"Your so beautiful.." He whispered, kissing your lips gently. You blushed.
"Edo.." He smiled warmly before standing, pulling you up with him. He looked at the spot where Greed lied sadly. You took his hand in your own, he squeezed your hand slightly. He looked away from the ground to you. His eyes seemed to be turning back to normal.
"I love you, Kel." He said. You blinked, then smiled.
"I love you too, Edo."
"We...We'd better go.." He said quietly.
"Yeah.." You agreed as you both began walking out. You were gonna make Greed and Dante small graves, it was the least you could do.
