Kelsi's eyes drifted from her book to her screaming bestfriend, Winry. She, apparently, was mad. At who? She didn't know. Winry had thrown a wrench at someone. The only person she ever did that to was...Kelsi's heart stopped. No way, he was...he was dead. He couldn't be..It's impossible. She ran out to the balcony, and nearly passed out as she looked down. He was...alive? How? She couldn't breathe, couldn't think, couldn't move. All she could do, was stand there, staring at the boy who was yelling at Winry. He didn't seem to recodnize her. Of course he wouldn't, it's been so long. She clenched her fist and went back in, grabbed something, then walked back out. A shiny object hurled toward the blond's head, slamming directly into his forehead.
"Ugh! I finally get to see you again, and you don't even say hello!?" She screamed down to him leaning over the rail and shaking her fist. "What the hell, Ed! Sure, your a complete idiot, but I didn't think you'd actually forget about me!"
"....Kelsi?" The short boy whispered.
"Damn straight!" She said loudly. The boy shook his slowly shook his head with a look of terror on his face.
"No, your...your supposed to...supposed to be dead.." Kelsi's eyes went wide as she turned to Winry. She looked nervous. Oh hell no. She lied to her?! Winry, you got some splainin' to do.
-2 hours Later-
Kelsi was PISSED. Not only did Winry lie to her, she lied to Ed too. She told each of them the other was dead. She had a reason sure, but still, what kinda lie is THAT!? Apparently, Al told her to tell Kelsi not to go looking for them, so, she told her they died in the transmutation. That's nice isn't it? Also, Al told her to tell Ed not to go after her after she had run off, SO, she tells him that Kelsi died in an accident. 'What the hell!' right? Yea, that's the same thing they said.
Kelsi sighed and slammed her head onto her pillow for the twelth time. When she first left, she thought when she came back her and Ed would be the same as they used to be. Instead, she learns 'he died.' She was depressed for weeks. Another sigh escaped her lips as she rolled onto her back. She still hadn't gotten a hi, hello, how are you, or even a hug from Ed. She prayed he was still the same little Edo she used to know.
Ed cursed silently and rolled on his side, before sitting up. He had been sleeping on the couch like he always did after getting new automail. Usually he'd sleep the rest of the day, then train all of the next day. But now, it was different. Kelsi was here. She wasn't dead. SHE WAS ALIVE. He kept thinking that over and over. When Winry told her about 'the accident,' he didn't do anything for a month. Didn't speak, didn't come out of his room, and didn't smile. After 30 days had gone by Al forced him outside and in time he recovered. Not fully though. Whenever memories would come in the conversation he'd get depressed. When he thought about her, his heart would hurt. His fist made contact with the wooden door infront of him. Taking in a deep breath, he waited.
"Come in," Kelsi said to whoever was at the door, not looking away from the ceiling. The door opened then closed. She looked over. He didn't say anything, he just stood there. Slowly his eyes lifted from the floor to her. She sat up. "Edo?" His eyes softened. He'd been dying to hear that since the day she left, 5 years ago. Still, he said nothing. They stared at eachother, eyes locked. Tears came to Kelsi's eyes, and as soon as Ed noticed them, tears came to his as well. Kelsi gripped the sheets as the tears began to fall off her face to the matress. Ed took a step foward, then another, then he was running toward her. He threw his arms tightly around Kelsi's shoulders, burying his face in her neck as he shook with sobs. She let out a sob and wrapped her arms around his mid section.
"Kelsi...Kelsi..." He whispered her name repeatedly. She whispered his in return.
It took nearly 20 minutes for both of them to calm down. They stayed in the same position, neither saying anything. Ed's arms loosened suddenly as he pulled away, leaving his hands on her shoulders. She wondered what he was thinking. She didn't know what to say so, she smiled. A warm smile came to his face.
"..I missed you, Kel." He said softly. She blushed slightly.
"I missed you too, Ed." He pressed his forehead to hers and closed his eyes.
"Because tonight will be the night that I will fall for you, over again. Don't make me change my mind, or I won't live to see another day, I swear it's true. Cause a girl like you is impossible to find, your impossible to find." He sang quietly, opening his eyes. He smiled slightly, pulling back. "Do you remember that?"
"Of course, you sang that for me at the talent show when we were 10." She said and started giggling. He grinned happily. She nearly melted, she loved his smile. Hell, she loved him...Her expression changed. She thought she stopped loving him a long time ago.
"What's wrong Kel?" He asked. She smiled and shook her head.
"It's nothing." His eyes softened.
"You can tell me, ya know."
"Yeah, I know.." She whispered, looking down.
"Then, why don't cha?" He asked poking her stomach. She giggled. God, this boy loved her laugh. He told her so too, years ago though.
"Well, there's...something on my mind."
"And what's that?" He asked and lying down, bringing her down with him. She blushed as he held her in his arms stroking her hair.
"Just..something." He scoffed.
"Oh, I am so sure." He said in a girly way, making her smile.
"It's nothing to worry about, Edo." She mumbled. He poked her side, telling her to look up, she did so.
"Tell me the truth, Kel. I don't like seeing you like this. It makes me wanna cryyyyy." He said trying to make her smile and tell him whatever was on her mind at the same time. She smiled slightly.
"I noticed something I thought ended a long time ago, never really ended." He tilted his head to the side in confusion. "I mean, I loved someone a long time ago, and I thought I didn't any more, but now I know, I never stopped loving him." She said quietly. Edward tensed.
"O-oh? Who?" He asked sadly. She smiled and looked down.
"Sorry, can't tell you."
"Why nooooooot?" He whined.
"Cause then he'll know how I feel."
"Come oooon tell...me...Wait. How would...he...know..?" He asked as his face turned red. She looked up and nodded. He stared at her in slight shock, not saying anything. "K-Kel.." Great, now he thought she was retarded. Her mind screamed for her to get up and run, but she didn't move. "You..love me?" Another nod. It was silent for a few minutes, but the silence was broken by Ed's laughter.
"Why are you...laughing?" She asked embaressed.
"All this time, I thought, I was an idiot for falling in love with my best friend, and now I know I'm not the only idiot!" He said laughing more. She didn't find that...funny. Wait, did he just-?
"What are you saying Edo?"
"I love you, Kelsi. I always have." He said softly.
"Edward...." She whispered as his lips made contact with her own.
-The next morning-
"Why!? Why do you guys have to leave so soon?! Kelsi's gonna be heartbroken! Don't you care!?"
"Of course I do! And shut up, your gonna wake-"
"Your leaving?" Kelsi asked walking down the stairs.
"-her." Ed finished and sighed. "I'm sorry, Kel, we gotta go back to H.Q." She clenched her fists.
"Oh...O-okay, I- I hope you have a s-safe trip." She said, fighting the tears.
"Kel..." Ed whispered.
"Go-Goodbye Edo." She said hugging him. They all stood infront of the house, saying their goodbye.
"Never say goodbye, Kel." He whispered. "We'll be back. I promise, so keep Winry from commiting suicide kay?" A wrench slammed into the back of his head.
"Don't be such an ass!" Winry yelled. Ed grinned then tightened his grip on Kelsi.
"I love you, Kel, and I'm gonna miss yoooooooou." He said in a baby voice squeezing her tightly.
"I love you too Ed, but if you don't let go I'm not gonna be here...when...you come..back.." She choked at the lack of oxygen. He loosened his grip.
"Now I wouldn't want that." He said smirking. She rolled her eyes as he kissed her.
They walked down the path on their way to the station.
"Oh, I didn't say bye to Al...shit..BYE ARU!" She yelled.
"Bye Kelsi!" A boy's voice returned. She smiled. Oh when the day comes and he gets his body back, he was gonna get mega glomped.
"I LOVE YOU KELSI HOPELIGHT!" A voice screamed. Everyone in Risembool probably heard that. How embarrasing.
"Love you too Ed! BUT YOU DONT HAVE TO SCREAM!"
"Your one to talk!" She smiled as they disapeared from sight.
"It's about time you two hooked up, I mean honestly." Winry said grinning.
"Oh shut upppp." She said as Ed's smiling face now haunted her thoughts.
